MOPS - Miles of Pillowcase Smiles

MOPS (Miles of Pillowcase Smiles) is held every fall to coincide With National Childhood Cancer Awareness month in September. Our goal for MOPS is to sew as many “Miles” of pillowcases as possible. One mile equals 2,112 pillowcases.

If you plan to attend MOPS and sew, please bring your sewing machine and basic sewing supplies. We have a few machines at the Studio that can be used and some non-sewing jobs – pinning and pressing. Please bring your lunch. Bottled water and desserts will be provided.

This year we are asking for each person to bring one yard of 100% cotton child-friendly fabric - no flannel please - so we can continue to keep this project going all year!

For those who want to sew at home, pillowcase kits can be picked up at the Studio starting August 16 from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The last day to turn in completed pillowcases is September 13, 2024.
