Diablo Valley Quilters (DVQ) was founded in 1983 to preserve the traditions and history of quilting. Our goal is to promote friendship among those interested in quilting and to contribute to the knowledge and appreciation of quilts. We sponsor quilting activities and contribute to the growth of our members through educational meetings. We are a non-profit 501(c)3 organization.
Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month at the Danville Congregational Church, 989 San Ramon Valley Boulevard, Danville, California. Between 7:00 PM and 7:30 PM members have the opportunity to browse and check out books from the Guild Library, look over and turn in contributions to the Block of the Month, pay dues, pick up Community Outreach quilt kits and/or drop off completed Community Outreach quilts, quilt tops & pillowcases, buy raffle tickets, enjoy a refreshment and socialize. We often have a visiting guild showing their opportunity quilt and selling tickets. Our meeting starts at 7:30 PM with announcements, and committee reports. Just prior to our evening's program is Show and Tell, which is each member's opportunity to share completed projects, or share a latest quilt find.
The membership year for DVQ is from January 1 to December 31. Regular dues are $35.00 per year. Charter Members and Seniors (80 and older) enjoy complimentary membership.
See our Membership information.
DVQ Board Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 PM at The Studio, 12919 Alcosta Blvd., Suite 1, San Ramon, CA. All Guild members are welcome to attend Board Meetings.
DVQ maintains an extensive library. Members may borrow books and DVD's for one month at no charge. DVQ also maintains a stencil library for member's use. See our Library.
The Quilters Quill, DVQ's monthly newsletter, is sent by email to all dues paying members. The newsletter contains valuable and timely information about Guild activities, membership, and other quilt related topics.
Quilting for Others
We serve our community and our world by making quilts for others. Learn more about our Outreach program.
DVQ holds a quilt show in odd numbered years and attracts an average of 1,500 visitors. We exhibit more than 175 of our member's quilts, and have an opportunity quilt, which is pieced by our members. For more information about our next quilt show in 2017, please click here.
Quilt Show Challenge Quilt
Early each quilt show year a selection of fabrics and/or theme for a quilt and instructions are made available to members for the Guild Challenge Quilt. Members have until the Quilt Show to complete their project. Quilt Show attendees vote for the first, second and third place Challenge Quilt winners each year.
